This is a beginner level course targeted at nurses and nursing students and is in English with subtitles in 9 other languages. In this course you will be shown ways to utilize the 6 principals of integrative nursing at your current work and then how to apply and practice specific therapies at work, while maintaining integrity with research evidence and safety and quality considerations. You will be able to partner with patients to develop an interactive care plan that fits in accordance with their needs and preferences. Throughout the course you will be focused on assessing patient needs and educating and advising them in clear layman’s terms. The courses are as follows: Course 1 – Introduction to Integrative Nursing: Introduces nurses to whole-person care and will teach you to be a healing presence to all you serve; Course 2 – Aromatherapy: Clinical use of essential oils; Course 3 – Acupressure: You will be able to describe indications for acupressure and its use in symptom management, learn different ways of administrating acupressure, and understand protocols for pain management; Course 4 – Guided Imagery: Using imagery interventions to assist with system management, healing, enhancing health and well-being; Course 5 – Mindfulness in Integrative Healthcare: You will learn to asses when mindfulness maybe be helpful and to refer patients to mindfulness programs and resources. Skills Acquired: Integrative Healthcare, Wellbeing, Patient-Centered Care, Improved System Management, Evidence-Based Practice, Symptom Management, Healthcare, Stress Management, Pain Management, Whole-Person Care, Mindfulness and Integrative Medicine. Duration: 7 months at a pace of 3 hours per week – 5 Courses
